Five suspects in connection to a Jones County home invasion made their initial appearance in court Friday.
Brittany Chandler and Timothy Graham, who were previously out on bond, had their bonds revoked.
They, as well as Brandon Windham, Justin Windham and David Dry faced three charges each.
The judge ordered all of the suspects to pay $25,000 fines for aggravated assault, armed robbery, and burglary-home invasion charges.
On Monday, Jones County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to a residence just off of Highway 15 South, Laurel. Deputies had been advised that a victim had been assaulted. When the deputy arrived he met a male and female victim, residents of the home. The victims reported five people assaulted them after forcing their way into the home. The weapons used in the assault were a hammer, hatchet, fire poker, hoe and pistol. The female was held down while the male resident was able to somewhat defend himself, at which time the female resident had the opportunity to free herself. The suspects then fled the scene.
The victims knew the assailants and identified them as Brandon Windham,31 of Ovett; Justin Windham, 18 of Ovett; Brittany Chandler, 28 of Laurel; Timothy Joel “Tjo” Graham, 36 of Laurel; and David Dry, 29 of Laurel. Suspects are believed to be members of the Simon City Royals gang. The victims were intentionally targeted, this was not a random act.
The victims were transported to South Central Regional Medical Center for medical attention and released.
