Southern Miss Activities Council members wanted to demonstrate the dangers of driving under the influence before students left for spring break next week.
"I did horrible," said senior Kendall Laster. "I've never had the experience before, and it taught me a lot because I would never drink and drive."
The simulator replicated the effects of alcohol during different scenarios of intoxication levels, car types and road conditions.
"Please, if you are drinking, call someone, a friend, or a taxi," Laster said after the test.
The Southern Miss Activities Council partnered with Southern Beverages, Eagles After Hours and Conference and Fraternity Housing Management to host the simulation, and PEER Awareness provided the simulation equipment.
