HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A Hattiesburg man indicted in a 2013 capital murder case pled guilty Wednesday in a Forrest County court.
Derrick Bolton, 20, pleaded guilty to 2nd degree murder in the shooting death of Robert Williams that occurred at a residence on West 7th Street on August 1st.
Bolton was one of three who were indicted on capital murder, conspiracy and kidnapping in the incident.
Daylon Waldrop and David Fairley were also charged in connection to the crime.
The indictment detailed the conspiracy to commit the crime, along with using a handgun in the process of a robbery along with unlawfully detaining another victim in the case.
Bolton was sentenced to 35 years with 22 years to serve.
Waldrop is expected to stand trial beginning Tuesday in Forrest County.
