Freezing rain could potentially impact the northern Pine Belt Tuesday morning.
Rain and freezing temperatures are a dangerous mix. Depending on how far south the freezing temperatures reach before daybreak, freezing rain could occur. For most of the area, though, only rain is expected.
Schools in Jones County will be open and buses will run on their regular schedule.
"We also want to ask the public to be extremely careful as they drive around our schools and buses," said Tommy Parker, Jones County Superintendent of Education.
Residents are advised to check weather conditions before heading out on Tuesday morning. Allow for extra time to reach your destination and leave extra space between your vehicle and the one in front of you.
