Miss University of Southern Mississippi hosted a special book donation event at the Ogletree House on the campus of USM.
The event was called "Princesses for Pages," and was part of Hanna Roberts' book donation program called "Pages of Love."
Those who donated a new or gently used children's book were admitted free.
"It's a great opportunity to be able to give these books new life to another little girl or little boy that hasn't got to read that book yet, so it's really great to see their involvement, Roberts said.
The books are donated to hospitals, schools, churches and related organizations.
"I think it also helps to sort of teach a sense of community service at such a young age," Roberts added.
So far this year, Roberts has collected more than 20,000 books.
