HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Members of the Hattiesburg fire and police department took to the gridiron today to raise money for a good cause.
Participants from both departments took part in the inaugural Habitat Heroes Flag Football game. The departments slugged it out on the turf at Southern Mississippi's M.M. Stadium in front of friends and family.
Hall of Fame kicker Ray Guy was even on hand to sign autographs as well as initiate the coin toss.
The money raised during the event goes to the habitat's mission to serve the Hattiesburg area.
Even though it wasn't about winning or losing... the police department knocked off the firefighters 26-10 to claim their bragging rights.
