For the fifth year in a row, local artist Elizabeth Huffmaster has been commissioned to provide a one-of-a-kind painting representing this year's Southern Miss Jazz and Blues Festival. Held at The University of Southern Mississippi's Gulf Park campus in Long Beach, this year's festival will take place Saturday, April 4 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
The painting, which represents the 6th annual Jazz and Blues Festival, will be featured on T-shirts, along with signed and numbered poster prints, which will all be available for purchase at the festival.
The Southern Miss Jazz and Blues Festival is free and open to the public offering a day of fun and music for families and people of all ages. In addition to local restaurants and food vendors offering a variety of cuisine, the festival will also feature arts and crafts vendors set up throughout front lawn of the campus.
An Easter egg hunt, for children ages 12 and under, will begin promptly at 11 a.m. near the festival grounds. Along with the Easter egg hunt, a variety of children's activities will be available. These activities are sponsored by various student organizations at the Southern Miss Gulf Park campus.
