LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -
The Laurel Police Department's Canine Division received several awards in the national certification trials held by the United States Police Canine Association on Feb. 9 in Jackson County.
"The teams were tested in detection work for narcotics, patrol work and criminal apprehension," according to department officials.
Sgt. Rob Norman and K-9 Recon placed first in the agility portion, second overall in the narcotics portion, second in the patrol portion and won the Top Dog Award at the trials, according to a news release.
