A Hattiesburg man is behind bars and charged with aggravated assault and grand larceny.

Tyler Adcock, 20, of Hattiesburg was arrested within minutes of the alleged incident by Hattiesburg police Friday afternoon.

According to Hattiesburg Police Lt. Jon Traxler, the incident occurred at the Pine Belt Insurance office when the victim went inside to pay her insurance bill.

"The victims car was left running in the parking lot and when she returned, the suspect was inside it, and allegedly struck her with the vehicle and drove off," said Traxler.

A witness followed Adcock and alerted police of his location. According to Traxler, Adcock was taken into custody near the Ida and Bowling Street intersection.

Traxler stated a weapon was recovered in Adcock's possession, but not displayed during commission of the crime.
