Sandersville man arrested for passing stopped school bus

SANDERSVILLE, MS (WDAM) - A Sandersville man was arrested Friday for allegedly passing a school bus with children unloading.

According to the Sandersville Police Department, Chad Davis struck the school bus stop sign with his side view mirror.

Police said the bus was fully loaded with North Jones Elementary students and in the process of unloading. Davis was arrested during a traffic stop and charged with driving over the influence, suspended driver's license, open container and passing a school bus with children unloading/loading.

According to police, Davis had a blood alcohol level was .17%, over twice the legal limit.
