The Old Firehouse Museum in Wiggins will be hosting its Second Annual Tea Party and Doll Show on Saturday, March 7, 2015. The event is free and will be held at the Ferris O'Neal Senior Center from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Senior Center is located at 1240 South Magnolia Dr. in Wiggins.
Different type of dolls to be showcased include Barbie, Bride, American Girl, Baby, Vintage, Homemade and International Dolls. Doll lovers, children and adults are welcome to display their favorite dolls at the show. Exhibitors should bring their dolls for display on Friday, March 6th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm or March 7th from 8:00 to 9:30 am to the Senior Center.
The Doll Show and Tea Party honor the legacy of Emilie and Marie Stapp and their contributions to the legacy of Stone County. The sisters collected dolls from all over the world and displayed them to the community at events like this. Their collection now is housed at USM in the De Grummond Children's Literature Museum.
The Old Firehouse Museum in Wiggins is dedicated to collecting and preserving the history of Stone County. It is located next to City Hall in Wiggins and is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 4 pm.
