Calling all former STAR students and STAR teachers

Over the past 49 years, more than 10,000 of Mississippi's top high school seniors have been honored by the M. B. Swayze Foundation Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program.

In celebration the 50th Anniversary of the STAR Program, the Mississippi Economic Council (MEC) and the STAR Program are looking for all former STAR Students and STAR Teachers in an effort to find out "Where Are They Now?" If you are a former STAR Student or STAR Teacher please click here and get us up-to-date on where you are now. If you know of a former STAR Student or STAR Teacher please help spread the word to them.

“The Mississippi Economic Council has saluted the academic achievements of more than 20,000 outstanding high school students and teachers with the STAR Program. We are proud to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the most prestigious educational recognition program in the state” stated Vickie Powell.

MEC and the STAR Program will hold the 50th Anniversary Education Celebration on April 30, 2015, at the Jackson Convention Complex. The luncheon will be held in conjunction with MEC Advantage - the 66th MEC Annual Meeting. If you would like to attend please click here to register. General admission is $90 for non-MEC members.
