Sanderson Farms had a record sale in 2014, up 3.4 percent from 2013 according to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Joe Sanderson.
Sanderson announced the company's results Thursday at their annual shareholder's meeting. More than 150 people attended the annual event to hear the report on the prior fiscal year.
Aside from having a good year the company also announced their new plant in Palestine, Texas which opened Monday.
“Our annual sales this year were $2.77 billion and Palestine is going to make that number grow, and should be about 15 percent when it becomes fully operational which will be in 2016,” said Sanderson.
Sanderson said they plan to open another facility in North Carolina.
