HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - South Central Regional Medical Center celebrated National Wear Red Day on Friday as a part of Go Red For Women. The cafeteria was decorated for the event and organizers were also handing out heart health information and the symbolic Red Dress pins that celebrate Go Red For Women. Employees were also asked to help celebrate by wearing red. The babies in the nursery were celebrating by wearing red baby hats.
February is American Heart Month, a time when the American Heart Association asks all Americans to try to implement at least one positive change to ensure a healthier heart. The first Friday in February is traditionally National Wear Red Day ever since the first National Wear Red Day in 2003.
