HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Mississippi Armed Forces Museum at Camp Shelby is about to shut its doors for a few weeks so a new gallery can be constructed.
It will be closed to the public from Feb. 9-March 23.
The work is part of a $2 million renovation and expansion of the museum, which opened in October 2001.
"Basically, we'll have a whole new museum to see in early 2016," said Chad Daniels, museum director. "It'll look completely different, it'll have great new exhibits, it will have a lot more interactive things like that and a lot of new stories that we haven't been able to share because of our existing floor plan. So, we're really excited about it," he said.
