A four month relationship turned abusive after a Jones County man allegedly bit, kicked and hit his girlfriend, that's according to the sheriff's department.
Arthur Edison, Jr., 34 from Soso, was arrested Monday and charged with aggravated assault domestic violence. According to the sheriff's department the victim said her married boyfriend grabbed her around the throat strangling her until she blacked out. Deputies said Edison then threw her to the floor and kicked her all over her body - all the while, her 3-year-old child witnessed the events.
According to the department, the victim stated Edison had come by her house on his break from work and when she was not at home he got quite angry. When Edison was off from work he came back to the victim's home and that's when she said he became abusive. The victim's injuries include a possible broken nose, swollen face, full bite mark on her cheek and bruises all over her body from being kicked and hit.
Edison had his initial appearance Wednesday. He is facing a $10,000 cash bond.
