BASSFIELD, MS (WDAM) -
Jamal Peters' commitment to Mississippi State became official this morning when the Bassfield safety signed his national letter of intent Wednesday morning in the school's auditorium.
Peters is the #40 ranked recruit in the ESPN 300 and the #2 safety in the Class of 2015. He also carries a four-star rating.
His final two schools came down to MSU and LSU, but the Bassfield native decided to remain in his home state.
When Coach [Geoff] Collins left I was thinking about leaving because me and his relationship was on point. We were getting to know each other since [I was in] the 10th grade and then I would start thinking about going to LSU, but then again I'm a Mississippi kid and we're trying to change the game at Mississippi State."
Peters has a 95/100 rating on 247sports.com and is a U.S. Army All-American selection.
