Laurel Main Street is calling on all chefs, home cooks and friends with a great chili recipe to register for the 4th Annual Magnolia State Bank Chili Cook Off that will take place Saturday, February 21 in downtown Laurel from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Registration, which costs $100, is open until the evening of Monday, February 16. Teams can include up to five members and must prepare three gallons of chili for the judges and patrons to taste. Everything must be made from scratch at the cook-off no earlier than 7:00 a.m.
The winning team will receive a grand prize of $1,000 as well as the coveted traveling chili trophy. The team placing second will go home with $500 and the third will win $250. Patrons will determine the People's Choice Award and tent with the best decorations may receive the Spirit Award.
