Residents of a Dabbs Street home are lucky to be alive after a Tuesday morning house fire.
According to Hattiesburg Fire Chief Paul Presley, the fire broke out around 9:30 a.m. at the house located in the 600 block of Dabbs Street.
The occupants in the house made it out of the burning home just as firefighters were arriving on scene according to Presley.
Two people were taken by ambulance from the scene, one of which was later flown to a Jackson area hospital for burns.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, and is under investigation.
