In January Oak Grove High School became the first school in the state to form a Bassmaster Nation High Fishing team.
The team is made up of 19-members who will compete against each other and 15 other schools from around the state. They will also have the chance to compete in regional and national tournaments.
The Nation High Fishing Program gives the kids a chance to learn to be professional anglers.
"We've had an enormous response," said Richard Parker, Bassmaster Nation High State Director. "Every school we have presented it to so far is excited. It gives the kids another avenue to get an education doing something they like to do."
Last year the Bassmaster Nation High Program gave away over $90,000 in scholarships.
