One arrested for September 2014 burglary

PETAL, MS (WDAM) - The Petal Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with a September 2014 burglary.

Zachary Hinton, 25, was taken into custody Tuesday for allegedly stealing six guns from a Petal residence. According to department officials, Hinton was working at the residence at the time of the burglary.

Hinton made his initial appearance before Municipal Court Judge Sheila Smallwood on Wednesday. His bond was set at $10,000, and if convicted, Hinton could face up to 25 years in prison.

According to officials, Hinton is being housed at the Forrest County jail.
