Jones County authorities need help solving 2014 burglary

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - The Jones County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in connection with a commercial burglary incident that happened back in December.

The suspect is described as a young white male, in his late teens or early twenties, with reddish-hair and driving a red Ford Ranger step-side pickup truck.

The incident happened in the Moselle area of Jones County, off Tom Stockman Road.

The items which were taken included high end construction tools, such as industrial grade air hammers, skill saws, finishing guns and antique tools. The suspect also took a large amount of construction metal that authorities believe was taken for sale for scrap.

Sgt. Thad Windham, with the Jones County Sheriff's Department, said that the suspect may have struck the business on different occasions but the owner just recently noticed the missing items.

"We can't be everywhere all the time, so we need eyes everywhere." Windham said. "So with the public's help and with their assistance, we can do a lot more."

Anyone with information regarding the identification of the suspect or information concerning this incident, is encouraged to call the Jones County Sheriff's Department at 601-425-3147 or Crimestoppers at 601-428-STOP. There could be a reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of this individual.
