The third annual Community Health Fair was held Thursday at South Central Place in Laurel.
The event had many booths offering free health screenings to all community members.
Skin cancer screenings, blood pressure as well as bone density tests were among them many heath screenings which were provided.
Karen Vanderslice, Community Education Coordinator for South Central Regional Medical Center, says the event has seen a lot of growth over the past few years. She also underscored the importance of having a healthy community.
"Studies have shown that communities that are healthier, tend to be more prosperous." Vanderslice said, "We want the people in our community to be their best and this health fair will help them do that."
The Community Health fair is sponsored and paid for by the South Central Health Care Foundation with funds raised from Art of Healing.
