Laurel Housing Authority receives high performer score for 2014 fiscal year

The Housing Authority of the City of Laurel, Mississippi (LHA) receives “High Performer” Designation Notification from Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS) for 2014 fiscal year assessment.
The LHA has been designated as a Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) High Performer through the HUD’s Real Estate Assessment Center – Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS). HUD utilizes the PHAS subsystem to effectively measure Public Housing Authority’s on four components (Physical, Financial, Management and Capital Fund). The system electronically collects individual subsystem scores for the Financial, Management and Capital Fund, conducts an on-site Inspection for the physical component and produces a composite PHAS score. LHA received 95 of 100 total points.
Currently the Housing Authority of the City of Laurel, Mississippi provides decent, safe and affordable housing for over 494 families.
LHA Executive Director Ailrick Young, said “Our score reflects the hard work and dedication of the employees, the support of our Board of Commissioners and character of our Residents”.
