Hattiesburg Trolley Free Service to downtown for students

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Hattiesburg Trolley service would like to welcome college students back to town this week by offering free rides to the downtown area this coming Thursday.

The organization is doing a “welcome back students” trolley service from the USM campus to the downtown area beginning Thursday at 8 p.m. and lasting until 2 a.m.

They have partnered along with a few of the downtown businesses to get students safely to and from downtown.

“This is a free service from the Hattiesburg Trolley Organization, it'a a bunch of business owners and like minded young professionals that got together and decided that we wanted to have a free trolley service for people on special weekends in downtown Hattiesburg and the Midtown Hattiesburg and through campus just to make sure that people have an easy access to all of the events that are going on and a safe way to get home afterwards,” said Emily Curry chairman of the Hattiesburg Trolley Organization.

“Some of the local bars are having shows, the Dollar Box is hosting Flow Tribe, Skylight lounge is going to have LIVE music starting at 8:30 and Bianchi's is open for dinner.”

For updates on where the trolley will be, go to their Facebook page called Hattiesburg Trolley.

Just a few weeks ago the service gave rides to the downtown area to over 350 people for New Year's Eve.
