Columbia Strong hosts clean-up day after 2014 tornado

COLUMBIA, MS (WDAM) - Clean up efforts continue in Columbia after an EF-3 tornado ripped through the town on Dec. 23, 2014, killing two in its path.

The group Columbia Strong will host an official debris clean up day Saturday. Volunteers are meeting at Woodlawn Church on Highway 98 beginning 8 a.m., and are welcome to come throughout the day.

Training sessions will be held every 30 minutes before groups are sent out to begin clean up efforts.

Columbia Strong will provide materials needed for clean-up, and no skill-set or age will be turned away, according to group leader Nik Ingram.

Clean up will last from 8 a.m. until sunset.
