Charles Darby Charles Darby

Charles Darby went before Jones County Justice Court Judge Howell Beech where his cash bond was set at $100,000 for the aggravated assault charge which was then revoked due to Darby being out on bond for a previous charge.

It all started on Tuesday around 4:30 p.m., Jones County Deputies were dispatched to Burnt Bridge Road for a possible stabbing. On arrival, they found a 43-year old male who had been stabbed in the abdominal area. The victim's girlfriend identified her son, 18-year old Charles Darby as the suspect.

Deputies were notified of a suspicious person in the area of Indian Springs Road and Industrial Boulevard approximately two hours after the incident had been reported. Investigators went to the area and identified the individual as Charles Darby who was then taken into custody.

Darby was already out on bond for identity theft and now is being charged with Aggravated Assault/Use of a Deadly Weapon or Other Means Likely to Produce Death or Serious Bodily Harm.

The victim was transported to South Central Regional Medical Center and was listed in critical condition.
