Evan S. Dillard, president and chief executive officer of Forrest Health, will serve as grand marshal for the 30th annual Southern Miss Coca-Cola Classic Rodeo. The event is set for Friday and Saturday, Feb. 20-21 at the James Lynn Cartlidge Forrest County Multi-Purpose Center on U.S. Highway 49 South in Hattiesburg.
Dillard earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health care management from the University of Alabama, a Master of Public Health and a master's degree in business from the University of Alabama, Birmingham. He earned the title of Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Dillard brings great experience to Forrest General, having served in the health care industry for 38 years as a manager, COO and CEO. He has a history of service on company boards and was involved in establishing the Birmingham Regional Emergency Services System.
He also served as a member of the National Advisory Committee for Rural Health and Human Services. Prior to Forrest General, Dillard worked at various hospitals including the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham, the Birmingham Baptist Health System and Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare.
Dillard is currently on the Advisory Bank Board for BancorpSouth in Hattiesburg and the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors of the Mississippi Hospital Association. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Area Development Partnership, and is a recent appointee to the American Hospital Association Region 4 Policy Board.
The featured guests for the rodeo will be comedian Lecile Harris, a six-time professional rodeo Clown of the Year. Tickets will be on sale starting Jan. 9 at Boot County on U.S. Highway 49 and Hub City West on U.S. Highway 98 in Hattiesburg. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 after Feb. 19. Starting Feb. 20, tickets will be sold at the Forrest County Multi-Purpose Center beginning at 8 a.m. All seats are reserved.
