Local businesses slowly begin reopening in Columbia
COLUMBIA, MS (WDAM) -
After the devastation of the December 23rd tornado, many local businesses in the area are working to restore their buildings.
James Sinclair, owner of Bypass Grocery and Exxon in Columbia was able to reopen his gas station January 2nd.
"The glass in front, the doors, the roof, a substantial amount of inventory on the inside because you know, it rained, and it rained and it rained," Sinclair said. "We've got some good volunteers got some good friends that really helped me out and got some good employees."
Sinclair says he spent about $20,000 repair materials alone and restoration is ongoing.
