JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Alex made it official on Monday as he filed the necessary paperwork to qualify him to run for a third term as Sheriff of Jones County. He says the success of these past two terms is mainly from the staff that he's surrounded himself with and also help from the residents of Jones county.
When Hodge started the job back in 2007, the department, there were around 80 members on his staff and since that time, he's added more staff to the patrol and investigative divisions of the department.
"I'm honored to be a part of this family, this team and I'm so much looking forward to serving this county for many years to come." Hodge said, "I'm very thankful, because of the things we're providing the people would not be possible if it were not for the people that serve with me."
Hodge says that one of his priorities, should he win his third term, would be working with the state legislature in trying to get radars in the cars that patrol the county roadways. He goes on to say that visibility is the greatest deterrent to crime.
