Jan. 4 forecast

WDAM Weather Team WDAM Weather Team

The first half of the weekend brought severe storms and heavy rainfall, but the second half brings cooler conditions and a few peeks of sunshine.

Some Pine Belt locations saw over three inches of rain yesterday so flooding is still a major concern for those folks. Drive carefully today! The good news is that the forecast is dry straight through the work week, giving river levels an opportunity to return to normal and the ground a chance to dry out.

Expect temperatures near freezing tonight and afternoon highs won't make it much above 50 degrees Monday afternoon. The sunshine will return in full force by Monday and continue through the week.

Tuesday will be a bit warmer with near average highs in the upper 50s. Another blast of cold air arrives behind a cold front Tuesday night though, dropping lows into the teens by Thursday morning.
