Southern Miss basketball is in the midst of a three game road stretch and the final contest of that trip is in Baton Rouge against LSU (9-2), Monday.
Early turnovers and slow starts have derailed USM in several games and possibly with their toughest matchup of the year in front of them, redshirt senior guard and Sulpher, Louisiana native Chip Armelin gave his take on facing the Tigers.
"Just pretty much defending them as best as we can. Having a lot of energy, you know, just trying to make plays and play as hard as we can," said Armelin after Saturday's practice. "Score, get defensive stops and stuff like that. All their players are efficient players that can really play so, we're just going to focus on all the guys and try to get stops."
Armelin is second on the team in scoring at 10.3 points per game.
The Golden Eagles (5-5) are 0-4 on the road this season.
Tip-off is for 6 p.m. and can be seen on the SEC Network.
