Laurel woman remains behind bars after alleged stabbing incident

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

On Saturday, Laurel police responded to an incident in the 300 block of South 4th Avenue in Laurel. 

Upon arrival, officers found one female victim suffering from a stab wound to the chest area.

Officers arrested 54-year old Deborah Nix, a resident of Laurel, and charged her with one count of aggravated assault. 

She will have her initial appearance on Tuesday in Laurel Municipal Court. 

The victim was transported to SCRMC for treatment of her wounds.
