Seminary Police unveil new safety alert program

As part of the Seminary Police Department's #safecity program, the safety alert system was installed Wednesday at the Seminary Baptist Church and kindergarten school.

In case of emergency, just by the push of a button the system will send immediate notifications to all Seminary Police Officers by police radio and text.

Seminary Baptist purchased the system for around $1500 and will place the three remote buttons in different locations around the church and schools for easy access.

"Whether we're in the police cars, patrol cars, or having lunch, the first alert goes directly to our radios and a voice activates to announce an emergency at the location," said Michael Kelly, Seminary Chief of Police.

Chief Kelly would like to see the alert system in the school and is pitching it to local businesses.
