HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Southern Miss Center for Military Veterans, Service Members and Families has honored a local veterans organization for its support.

The Center has named its reception room for the Magnolia Chapter of the Armed Forces Top Enlisted Association (AFTEA).

That group is an alliance of senior non-commissioned officers who support national security with a focus on servicemen and women or those who have served.

The Center, which opened earlier this year on Morningside Drive, promotes sustainable conditions for a "military friendly" education support program.
