Jones County Junior College is offering three intercession courses beginning December 30, through January 9, 2015. These “face-to-face” classes are for students who are serious about working to complete a course during the holidays. The same assignments for the regular semester courses will be completed during this time frame.

The classes will meet from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. daily except for the last day, which will meet for a two-hour final exam. Meeting Dates are: December 30, 31, January 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. The classes will be counted as part of the total hours for the 2015 spring semester. If a student has financial aid available for the spring semester, payment can be applied for the spring semester.

Classes being offered are:

2347 CRJ 1313 Introduction to Criminal Justice Instructor-Yarbrough Jones Hall 135

2344 GEO 1113 World Regional Geography Instructor-Garick Jones Hall 138

2345 HPR 1213 Personal and Community Health Instructor-Robinson Jones Hall 132

The last day to register is December 17, in the Student Success Center for these classes.

    On July 10, 2017, 16 servicemen were killed when a KC-130 crashed in a soybean field in Leflore County.  The plane flew out of Cherry Point, North Carolina on its way to deliver personnel and equipment to the Naval Air Field El Centro, California when it went down in Mississippi.  15 U.S. Marines and one Navy Corpsman were killed.
