COLLINS, MS (WDAM) - The Collins Tigers overcame three turnovers and a 17-6 halftime deficit, to beat Charleston 28-20, for the MHSAA 3A state title.

Junior wide receiver Calvin Keys led the Tigers with nine receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown.

Senior Mark McLaurin found the end zone twice with four catches for 43 yards. His second touchdown catch put Collins ahead 26-20 in overtime, more than making up for his muffed punt in the first quarter that lead to a score for Charleston.

Quarterback Detric Hawthorne went 16/28 for 195 yards and three touchdowns including two interceptions.

The win marked the third overall title for Collins (2001, 2002).
