Bassfield beats Calhoun City 60-35, captures 3rd straight 2A title

BASSFIELD, MS (WDAM) - Bassfield used a dominant running game to beat Calhoun City 60-35, for their third straight 2A state title.

The Yellowjackets were led on the ground by senior T'Rodrick Daniels, who carried the ball 16 times for 219 yards and three touchdowns.

Fellow senior Jamal Peters, put the game away on a 52-yard touchdown run to give Bassfield a 48-27 lead with 7:38 left in the 4th quarter.

The Yellowjackets outgained the Wildcats 541 yards to 316.
