Hub City Humane Society gets new van for transport program

The Hub City Humane Society now has a new van to use in their puppy and dog transport program.

Hub City recently started the program where they send about 30-puppies and dogs to Atlanta every two-weeks where they are then transported to Pennsylvania to be adopted out. Until they got the new van, they were having to rent U-Hauls to make the trip. Over the last several weeks they have been trying to raise money to buy a van .Thanks to some of the Hub City Board Members they were able to shorten the process.

"This actually means a life," said Virginia Cheatham, Hub City Manager. "They get so overlooked in southern shelters that when they get up there for the most part they are adopted with-in three-days. It's amazing."

In the first three transports Hub City has sent nearly 90-dogs and puppies to Pennsylvania to be adopted.

They still need to raise $3000 to help pay off the van. Anyone wanting to help with that can call 601-596-2206.
