Forrest County Circuit Clerk clears up constable precinct confusion

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The runoff election to determine Forrest County Post 1 Constable is Tuesday, November 25.

Forrest County Sheriff's Deputy Mike Harris and Forrest County Sheriff's Captain Chris Bolten will face off in this runoff election. Here is a list of the precincts that will be open for voting: Brooklyn, Carnes, Dantzler, Dixie, Kamper Park, Maxie, Pinecrest, Richburg, Thames, Timberton, and Westside.

“The constable lines are drawn different from the supervisor lines, so that's why it doesn't include everybody in the supervisor district, but it includes the constable district,” said Ladonna Townsend, Deputy Clerk

The winner of the runoff will finish out the remaining year of Wayne Taylor's four year term. Taylor passed away this past summer during his third term as constable. The position has been filled by his wife, Interim Kay Taylor.
