As part of the Humane Society of the United States anti-puppy mill campaign, the Hub City Humane Society now has a new transport program to send adoptable puppies and dogs to Pennsylvania for a chance at a new life.
Monday Hub City sent out their second transport of 29-dogs and puppies on the first leg of their journey to Atlanta. From there they will be taken to Pet's Plus Natural in Pennsylvania where they will be made available for adoption. Currently Hub City is using a rented vehicle to make the transports, but are trying to raise around $10,000 to purchase a vehicle to use in the transports.
"We're about a third of the way there," said Virginia Cheatham, Hub City Manager. "We would really appreciate if anybody could help us out and then that way we won't need to rent a truck every time we go."
Hub City plans on two-transports a month that will send about 60-dogs and puppies to Pennsylvania for adoption.
