The severe weather set-up for Sunday morning didn't quite pan out as expected, but it's much better to be prepared than to be caught off guard!
The atmosphere lacked the instability required for strong storms to materialize. Many factors go in to forecasting severe weather and if a few ingredients are missing, oftentimes the storms don't materialize.
Looking ahead, windy conditions will persist through the evening but no more storms are expected. Gusts over 30 mph from the southwest have been reported across the area. Winds will calm later tonight and some clouds will remain over the Pine Belt. Lows in mid 50s tonight.
Cooler conditions expected for your Monday. Highs won't likely make it out of the upper 50s but sunny skies will make for a beautiful start to the work week. More sunshine and dry conditions for Tuesday as well.
