USM wins MORA donor challenge for 2nd time in 3 years

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Some Southern Miss students have been recognized for helping the university win a statewide competition which encouraged people to sign up to be organ donors.

USM College OF Health ambassadors received a $500 donation and a trophy from the Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency (MORA) Friday for their efforts in helping the university win an annual Donor Challenge.

During that five-week competition, USM had more donor designations than Ole Miss and Mississippi State combined.

It's the second time in three years that Southern Miss has won the challenge.
