FCAHS senior hosting dog walk to benefit Southern Pines Sunday

A Pine Belt area student is hosting the Walk a Pooch to Save a Pooch this Sunday to benefit the Southern Pines Animal Shelter on Sunday.

Jasmine Roberts from the Forrest County Agricultural High School is hosting the event as part of her senior project. The walk will start at the USM Gateway to the Long Leaf Trace starting at noon. The event is open to anyone who would like to come out with their dog and take part in the walk. Cost to participate is $10 and each participant will receive a raffle ticket for a large basket filled with treats for their dog.

"I like to visit Southern Pines, They are always nice to me," said Roberts. "I have a dog and even though I didn't get it from the shelter we still like visiting there because one of our neighborhood dogs was homeless and they helped him find a home."

All the proceeds from the walk will go to the shelter.
