HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Some students from one Hattiesburg Christian organization are hoping a holiday raffle will help them fund upcoming mission trips. And the grand prize is a new car.

A $100 ticket buys you a chance to own a 2014 Nissan Juke. It's the big prize in a raffle for the Southern Miss Catholic Student Assn.

The ticket also includes dinner for two at the drawing, which will be held Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. at USM's Trent Lott Center. Other cash prizes will also be drawn.

The group needs to sell 600 tickets. Nearly 200 have been sold so far.

"That will give us about $30,000 to do mission trips, to do dinners here that we do every Sunday and Wednesday nights for the students," said James Hayden, president of the Southern Miss Catholic Student Assn. "It'll cover retreats that we do and just general other funds for us," he said.

You can buy a ticket in person at St. Thomas Catholic Church or call the Southern Miss Catholic Student Assn. at 601-450-2520.
