HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A Hattiesburg charity is needing some extra food to make the upcoming holidays a special time for some under-privileged people. The folks at Christian Services, Inc. are needing items for its annual free Thanksgiving dinner next Tuesday.

They need green beans, chicken broth, butter and more turkeys.

They'll be feeding lunch to an estimated 2,000 people that day, as well as delivering food to several locations.

"It is the first time that we're down to the last week and we're asking for help," said Jim Prout, chief operating officer for Christian Services, Inc. "But, God has always provided, we don't doubt that (the food is) going to come in.  We know that, but it is a little interesting to be this close to the end before we get it," he said.

If you can help, call Christian Services at 601-582-5683.
