EASTABUCHIE, MS (WDAM) -

A man has been transported to a local hospital after a rollover accident near mile marker 73 on I-59.

A one vehicle accident happened near Monroe Road around 3:15 p.m.

A car drove off the road, flipped into the woods, and then caught fire.

Several bystanders helped the driver out of the vehicle before it caught flame.

Parts of the woods surrounding the car also caught fire. The North Forrest Volunteer Fire Department extinguished the woods and vehicle with spray foam.

According to the fire department, had it not been for the bystanders, the 40-year-old drive more than likely would have died after the car caught on fire.
