Comedy show to benefit Southern Pines Animal Center

A local comedy troupe is hosting a night of laughs to benefit the Southern Pines Animal Shelter.

The live comedy show will start at 7 p.m. Thursday night at the Thirsty Hippo on Mcleod St. in Hattiesburg. There is a $5 cover charge and the proceeds from the ticket sales will go to the shelter. The show will feature eight improvisational comics and one stand-up comedian, Brittany Purvis, a local comedian from Hub City Comedy

"The night will have a lot of good laughs," said Michael Rucker, Hardy Action Theater. "We'll have a stand-up block in the middle with jokes from Brittany. We'll be doing a series of improv scenes and comedy sketches based on suggestions from the audience and from Brittany herself."

The show is being put on by the Hardy Action Theater in coordination with Hub City Comedy.
