Free food for veterans on Veterans Day

Companies throughout the Pine Belt area are giving free food to veterans for Veterans Day.

“We are giving back and showing our appreciation for the sacrifices they have made and continue to make every day,” said Sarah Menzer, Applebees' Manager.

At Applebees, veterans can choose their free meal off of a special menu designed just for them.

“I did two terms in Vietnam and I get this every year and it reminds me that when I came back stateside I got my fill of hamburgers because we didn't get them over there,” , Veteran Erenest Jarrell said.

The following companies are participating: Outback Steakhouse, Texas Roadhouse, T.G.I. Friday's, Longhorn Steakhouse, O'Charley's, Shoney's, IHOP, Krystal, Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, Applebees, Olive Garden, Chili's, and Golden Corral.
