Two injured in one-vehicle rollover in Jones County

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

This is a news release from the Jones County Fire Council

An expecting mother and her husband were injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident Monday morning, November 10.

At 7:27 a.m., emergency medical responders and rescue units from Glade and Powers Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the accident, which occurred in the 500 block of Lower Myrick Road.  Upon arrival they found a white Chevy Impala, right-side up, with the expecting mother and her husband inside.  Emergency medical responders and EMServ ambulance service emergency medical team removed the two injured patients from the vehicle.  They were transported to South Central Medical Center with what was believed to be moderate and non-life threatening injuries.

According to officials, the accident apparently occurred when the Impala left the road, and after hitting a driveway culvert, began flipping over several times before coming to rest right-side up.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Jones County Sheriff's Department.
